- o idioma, a edição da Bíblia e as preferências de leitura — tema, tamanho da letra, correção de cor para daltonismo;
- o capítulo em que você parou e a lista do que já leu;
- os versículos que você marcou e as anotações que escreveu;
- o plano de leitura em andamento;
- A compra.

Privacy Policy
Siloé — Illustrated Bible · last updated 29 September 2026
Summary: Siloé collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you do inside the application — what you read, what you highlight, what you write — is stored on your own device. We send nothing to any server of ours. If Android backup is on, the system itself keeps a copy of that data in your Google account — it is optional, it belongs to Android, and turning it off takes no feature away.
Who we are
Siloé is a Bible reading application for Android, distributed through Google Play. This document describes how the application handles data.
Data we collect
None. The application collects, transmits and shares no personal data of any kind. There is no advertising SDK, no analytics tooling, no remote crash reporting and no tracking pixel.
What stays on the device
This data is written to the application's internal storage on your phone and never leaves it:
- the language, the Bible edition and the reading preferences — theme, type size, colour-vision adjustment;
- the chapter you stopped at and the list of what you have read;
- the verses you highlighted and the notes you wrote;
- the reading plan in progress;
- the daily reminder time, if you turned it on.
Uninstalling the application erases all of it. There is no copy on a server, and therefore no way to recover it — not even by us. If Android Backup is enabled on your Google account, this data may be included: that backup belongs to the operating system and to your account, and is governed by Google's privacy policy, not by this one.
There is also the backup to a file, in Settings › Backup: the app writes what is yours — chapters read, highlights, notes, plans, where you stopped — into a file and hands that file to you, through the Android share sheet. Where it goes is your choice, and we see neither the file nor the destination.
What leaves the device, and why
The application declares the internet permission
(android.permission.INTERNET), and it is used at three moments, all
started by you:
- The language. The biblical text and the study for each language are not inside the application: they are downloaded once, when you choose the language on first opening — and again only if you switch language or compare with a translation in another language. That download comes from Play Asset Delivery, from Google itself — no server of ours is involved, and none of your information travels in it.
- The purchase. When you buy one of the paid editions, the exchange is with Google Play, through Android's own purchase mechanism. We do not see, do not receive and do not store any payment data — all the application gets back is a purchased or not purchased answer for each product.
- The plates download. Whoever buys downloads, once, the package of 235 plates and 116 covers. That download comes from Play Asset Delivery, from Google itself — no server of ours is involved, and none of your information travels in it.
Outside those three moments the application makes no network request at all. Reading, search, study, narration and the PDF document all work entirely offline: after the language download, the biblical text, the notes, the sources and the illuminations stay on the device itself.
Links out
The plate notes cite the sources they rest on, and some carry the address of the licence or of the original archive. Tapping one of those addresses opens your phone's browser — from there that site's privacy policy applies, not ours. No screen of the application fetches content from outside.
Narration
Reading aloud uses the speech synthesiser installed on Android itself. The text is handed to the device's system; if the voice you chose in Android works with server support, that is the behaviour of that system component, and not of Siloé.
Permissions the application declares
There are seven, and this is the list the Google Play listing shows. The first four are in our own code; the last three come with Google's own libraries and exist for the same reason as the first — downloading the language and plates packages.
INTERNET— for the three moments described above.POST_NOTIFICATIONS— to show the daily reading reminder, if you turn it on. The notification is composed and fired on the device.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED— to schedule that same reminder again after the device restarts.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM— so the reminder arrives at the time you chose, and not up to half an hour later. Without it the app still works: the notice goes out within a few minutes around that time.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE— to know whether there is a connection before attempting the download.FOREGROUND_SERVICEandFOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC— those downloads run in the foreground so the system does not interrupt it midway.
There are no others: no location, no contacts, no camera, no microphone, no advertising identifier.
Children
The application is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the new version applies from publication.
